Radio Five

Listening to the European Treaty debate on Radio Five (it is covering the “big gun” speeches) serves to remind me of the more positive elements of the House of Commons. Some excellent speeches have already been made, and I suspect more are on their way. It is times like this that I wish Tony Benn were still an MP.

The last time this issue was debated with such passion William Hague delivered one of his best speeches - it was full of humour but very much to the point. Today he has been more sombre but equally effective.

Tune into the radio if you get the chance, its well worth it!
