AMERCAN EXPRESS, THAT WILL DO NICELY SIR (IAN)

Not content with over seeing the shooting dead of an innocent Brazilian, Sir Ian Blair has been responsible for allowing a whopping credit card debt of nearly £3 million. Criminals, card scamming? No, his own officers no less.

3000 Met Police have been issued with American Express Cards in order to go about their every day work. However, the Yards internal accounting system pays these bills without the need to produce receipts. Auditors reports to the Metropolitan Police Authority highlighted this problem in 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 with Blair letting it ride till finally two police officers have been arrested for fraud. The Commissioner has been ordered by the MPA to explain the lack of adequate controls on over £3 million of card expenditure.

Hopefully by the time he has made up his excuse or blamed other officers, he will have been sacked.
