All on the Nod!

Irene Lucas, Chief Coach of South Tyneside Councils Synchronised Nodding Team, today described herself as “elated” when the Team slashed the previous 7 minute world record for committee meetings, turning in a massive 3 minute affair for this weeks Cabinet get together.

“The Team have been training hard all month to achieve this world record time” said Lucas. “They have been nodding all week purely with this meeting in mind. Poor old Team Captain Councillor WAGGGOTTT’s head nearly fell off after a particular hard training session, such was his desire to say yes to anything and everything”.

With the Olympics coming up, the Team have returned once again to training. Not because of the tradition, the prestige or the sporting ethos, but because there’s a lot of money to be made.

Anyone know what you call that nodding dog you see in the back window of some cars? I think you get them free with the council's book of rules and procedures!

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, please watch the language. I have allowed it through but s**t is the border line word. Perhaps cowardly, two faced morons would be better. Anybody who for whatever reason doesn’t want to reveal his name, but doesn’t have the sense to realize his ISP address is outlined with his post, really is a sad and hypocritical person.

Keep on posting two down one to go, your insight at times is pretty good!

Yes, they're like nodding dogs a lot of the time. But a lot of this is surely decided behind closed doors, so why waste valuable council time by picking it over again, just for show?
Politics will always be done behind closed doors, so I'd rather no pretence be made of that.
Politics is far too advanced for changes to a budget/tax rise to be thrown in at the last minute.
