THE FALL AND RISE OF REGINALD PERRIN, PART TWO

Today’s Times, like many other papers, covers the intriguing story of John Darwin, the Hartlepool canoeist who went missing in 2002. Reappearing as if by magic, Darwin presented himself to a London police station and claimed not to be able to remember anything since 2000.

The combined piece by 4 Times reporters makes fascinating reading, involving sales of property, foreign bank accounts, trips abroad and police investigations. Stepping outside of the joy that family members must have felt, this whole scenario is ripe for the Hollywood film treatment.

No doubt the police will be working hard to tie up all the loose ends which characterise this issue, but they may have to resurrect Inspector Morse to bring it to any conclusion such is the level of intrigue.

Have a look at the facts for yourself, and then sit by for the film or TV documentary. Mark words, it will come.
